Our Anniversary

I’ve taken to wearing sneakers more often.  This might seem to be of little importance but it’s indicative of my role in the world.  I am a mom.  My hair is always up and while I’ve avoided scrunchies I have given in to the claw.  I’m certain the device has a name other than that but there wasn’t time to read the packaging…I wanted to write a post about the changes we go through in our marriages etc. but already I’m out of time.  I wanted to tell Brian how happy I am he looks at me the same way when I’m wearing sneakers as he did when I was wearing that silky number I bought for our first night away together.  I wanted to tell him the gray in his hair makes my knees weak and his co-worker stories entertain me more than any poetry reading ever could.  I wanted to tell him that while he may be working today and I may have signed us up to volunteer with the democrats tonight that I haven’t forgotten that three years ago today he made me the luckiest woman in the world.
